Full course description

After completing this 2 hour long course, you will be eligible for 2 Continuing Education Units (CEU) as approved by the Wyoming Department of Agriculture.

The Wyoming Department of Agriculture Prairie Dog Management Course covers background information regarding physical characteristics, biology, habitat, and social patterns of prairie dogs in Wyoming. It also describes nuisance behaviors, signs of infestation,  when they become a problem,  complex effects on the environment and ecosystem, and why managing prairie dog populations in a manner that creates a proper ecological balance is essential. Further, this course explains both historical and modern approaches to managing prairie dog populations and which practices are most successful. The final part of this course covers the positive and negative attributes of using rodenticides for management, how to follow proper application guidelines, and the effects of rodenticides on the environment and ecosystem.

In order to earn this certification and 2 CEU's, you will need to earn at least a 70% passing score on each assessment throughout the course.  This Prairie Dog Management course takes approximately 2 hours to complete. Once you have successfully completed each module and corresponding assessment, a certificate will be e-mailed to you. The certificate must then be mailed to WDA in order to document the 2 CEU's.
