Full course description

This course will provide the basic information an employee would need to know if they are expected to survey mosquito populations and employ control measures against them as part of their job. Mosquito biology and the identification of the predominant species that vectors of West Nile virus are presented. The methods of sampling both mosquito larvae in their water habitats and flying adults with various traps are covered.  The pros and cons of the various mosquito control products are detailed and the importance of properly applying them safely is emphasized.  The purpose of the course is to help Wyoming mosquito abatement districts train their employees to do an important task effectively and safely.
